A short history
In early 2008 Kevin Haskall, the proprietor of Kendy Caravans on the NSW Central Coast, contacted some of his Adria caravan customers suggesting that they meet to discuss the formation of a new caravan club.
On the 21st February 2008 at the Merrylands RSL Club eleven couples met and the Adria Caravan Club of NSW was born.
The first club rally was organised to coincide with the Sydney Caravan and Camping Show in March/April 2008.
The venue for the first rally was at the Lane Cove National Park on the weekend of 29-31 March 2008.
A general meeting was held on the Saturday afternoon.
A committee was elected consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Editor.
It was decided that there would be three or four rallies per year of seven days duration. A general meeting would be held on the Saturday with an AGM held once a year in February.
Members would volunteer to organise rallies and it would be a pet friendly club.
The name Adria Caravan Club NSW Inc was chosen, allowing for other clubs to be set up in the other states of Australia.
A newsletter, subsequently named 'The Adria Advocate' was created and is still published after each rally today.
